Hello! I’m Sabrina Lee, an aspiring journalist and designer studying at Hofstra University.
Who, me?
I am currently enrolled as a junior in the Lawrence Herbert School of Communication at Hofstra University pursuing an undergraduate degree. I am majoring in Journalism with a minor in Design. I’m passionate about telling important stories through both written and visual work — and seek to challenge myself in different mediums of journalism.
Much of my work in school and internships reflect my interests in discussing diversity, inclusion and intersectionality. I have always enjoyed the process of learning and never shy away from a new challenge.
For more insight on my experience as a journalist, take a look at both my writing and design work. Please feel free to contact me!

EXPERIENCE
Impact Intern, Frontline PBS
I currently work at Frontline, PBS’s investigative documentary series, as a summer intern and have been asked to continue through Fall 2021. At Frontline, I am a part of the Impact team — tasked with handling outreach initiatives such as public discussion programs and film screenings. Much of my work this summer has been assisting with event preparation for “Un(re)solved,” Frontline’s multi-platform investigation of civil rights era cold case murders.
Art Director, L.I. Pulse Magazine
For the Spring 2021 issue of Pulse, our staff was tasked with telling the story of an unprecedented year. We decided to center our issue around Covid-19, social justice and climate change. As the Art Director, I lead the production team and oversaw all design decisions for the print magazine. In addition to writing two articles for the magazine, I designed the cover, index and editor’s note and finalized all the layout before publishing.
Graphic Designer & Staff Writer, The Hofstra Clocktower
The Hofstra Clocktower is an investigative news collective, independent from the university, with a mission to create transparency between the university and its students. We are interested in telling stories not just through the tradition written medium of journalism, but through digital mediums as well. At the Hofstra Clocktower, I create all social media assets including data visualizations and explainers that accompany written stories.
Editorial Intern, New York Family Magazine
From November 2020 to February 2021, I interned at New York Family magazine where I wrote articles about family life and kids. Some of the articles published include: Books for Children, Holiday Activities for the Family, Where to Find Your New Year’s Eve Drinks, etc.
Associate Dance Editor, Picture This Post Magazine
I volunteered at Picture This Post magazine from June 2020 to January 2021. During my time as an Associate Dance Editor, I wrote reviews for dance performances and films, wrote previews and created layouts for articles. I also helped the Editor-in-Chief with the Black Lives Matter section. I had the opportunity to interview dance industry professionals and write Q&A’s for the Black Lives Matter section.
